STAFF ACHIEVEMENT

Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Director :

  • was invited to Stars Symposium, Penglai, China from 9-12th June 2012 and delivered a talk on India's technology led growth and future challenges. This symposium was organized for global leaders of next generation.
  • Indian patent was filed by Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Director, School of Biotechnology, KIIT University on "Live Attenuated Salmonella Vaccine". It bears Application Number 359/KOL/2012 dated 30.03.2012. This vaccine is a novel vaccine candidate which is safe for all kinds of immune-compromised conditions. Further development is going on  in collaboration with ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
  • has been invited by Steinam Rhein Symposium – 2010, Stein am Rhein, Switzerland to deliver a talk on  “KIIT University as a role model for a sustainable inclusive growth” from 25th – 27th Sept. 2010.
  • has been  invited  by UBS Conference  Center, Wolfsberg, Switzerland to deliver a talk on “How to catalyse innovation from  and to maximize the impact of community based efforts”  on 22nd - 27th November 2010.
  • has been invited by Steyen Zarnfaller, Country Manager, Concern World wide Innovations for Maternao, Newborn & Child Health, to visit Malawi & South Africa  between 5th May to 10th May 2011.

Mr. Gopal Kumar Chowdhary, Asst. Professor :

  • Awarded  the Yggdrasil- Yong Guest and Doctoral Researchers Annual Scholarship for investigation and learning  sponsored by  Research Council of Norway  from 1st Sept. 2010 to 31st August 2011.
  • Received the Norwegian Research Council Fellowship to visit Norway for three months.
Dr. Raja Mansingh Rathore, Asst. Professor, School of Biotechnology, KIIT University has been awarded the prestigious Yggdrasil-Yong Guest and Doctoral Researcher at University of Bergen, Norway from 1st October  2010 to 31st August 2011.
Dr. Chanakyanath Kundu, Associate Professor, School of Biotechnology, KIIT University has been awarded  an International Fellowship  for young Biomedical Scientists of the Year 2010- 11 by ICMR, Govt. of India, New Delhi  at University of  South  Carolina, Columbia, SC, USA for three months  from February 15th  to May 15th 2011.

Dr. Avinash Sonawane, Associate Professor :

  • has been awarded  Swedish Institute Fellowship by the Swedish Government  to do research work at  Lund University for the period of two months from 5th April to 30th May 2011.
  • received the prestigious EMBO Fellow and visited Germany for three months (May-July 2012).

Dr. Birendra Nath Banerjee, Asst. Professor :

  • has been selected to participate in the 27th HUGO- IABCR Congress 2010, Genomics, Biology & Breast Cancer Treatment held at the Biopolis, Matrix, Singapore on 5th – 7th October 2010.
  • was awarded with Crest Award, sponsored by Dept of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India and will visit six months to Baylor College of Medicine, USA for developing collaborative project in the area of Stem cell and Regenerative medicine.

Dr. Priyadarshi Sahu, Assistant Professor has been awarded with a research project funded by Melinda Gates Foundation on  "Orissa Sanitation Trial Fecal Source Tracking and Pathogen Exposure
Sub-Study" in association with University of California, Davis (UCD), USA and London School of Hygiene and  Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK.

Dr. Luna Goswami, Assistant Professor has been awarded with a research project funded
by Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt of India on "Screening, Purification,
Molecular cloning and functional characterization of the novel plant cell wall- degrading enzymes from
natural sources".

Dr. Deendayal Mandal, Associate Professor received a fellowship and visited University of Rhode Island, USA (June-July 2012).
